Little Tran receives grant for Summer Voice Academy

Timothy Little Tran, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of music, received a grant of $39,310 from the U.S. Department of Education through Shippensburg University to conduct a four-day immersive summer voice academy for rising high school sophomores and juniors.

Little Tran will serve as the project director and grant administrator for the program. In addition, the following SRU faculty will have roles, including:

  • Christopher Scott, a SRU associate professor of music, as the academy director and voice teacher.
  • Cindy Candelaria-Pieve, a SRU assistant professor of music, as the classical voice coordinator.
  • Emily Scott, a SRU instructor of theatre, as the musical theatre coordinator.
  • Lincoln Sandham, a SRU instructor of music and musical theatre accompanist, as the collaborative piano coordinator.
