Drop/add deadline is Sept. 2
The deadline for students to drop/add a full semester course on the MySRU portal (OneSIS sign in) is 11:59 p.m., Sept. 2. Any attempt to drop a class after Sept. 2 will be considered a withdrawal. Students cannot drop The Rock/Basic Requirement courses. For more information, contact Academic Records at 724.738.2010 or academic.records@sru.edu.
New library hours
In response to requests from students and the Student Government Association, as well as analysis of building occupancy, Bailey Library has new hours for the new academic year to include more evening access. The new hours are:
Sundays, 1-11 p.m.
Mondays through Thursdays, 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Fridays, 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
OneSIS transition updates
The transition to SRU’s OneSIS Banner for its student information system continues. Please be aware of the following updates and reminders:
Summer 2025 grades have now been migrated to OneSIS Banner.
OneSIS degree audits should now reflect courses with Summer 2025 grades.
Student degree information will be migrated to OneSIS Banner in the coming weeks.
All students will be transitioning to a student ID number that starts with “P.” All students will be assigned a completely new ID number, which the student can view in the MySRU profile.
The parent proxy and authorized user portal is temporarily unavailable due to the OneSIS migration.

Campus Services Updates
Employee meal plans available
Faculty and staff can enjoy the convenience and variety of on-campus dining options by purchasing a meal plan provided by Dining Services on the MySRU portal or by clicking here.
Block of 25 meals with two guest passes for $212.50,
Block of 50 meals with five guest passes for $415, or
Flex funds in $25 increments.
Meals can be used to access Boozel Dining Hall for all-you-care-to-eat dining, for designated meal exchanges at any retail location, or for meal cash credit at select locations. Guest passes are only valid at Boozel Hall. For more information, contact dining@sru.edu or 724.738.2038 or visit the SRU Dining Service website.
Catering for campus events
Aramark has exclusive rights to provide catering services for all University events, except for modest purchases of less than $100. Aramark provides a complete catering experience with comprehensive menus. Request catering services online (sru.edu/dining), by email (sru.catering@sru.edu), or by phone (extension 2832). The purchase of food for University events is subject to the requirements of the Expenditures of Public Funds policy.
IATS Updates
New Help Desk location
The Help Desk and Technology Support Services are now located in Bailey Library, Room 113. The Help Desk can also be reached by calling 724.738.4357 or emailing helpdesk@sru.edu.
Phishing scam alert
The SRU community is reminded to remain vigilant against phishing attempts. Phishing is a type of online scam where attackers try to trick you into providing sensitive information such as passwords, credit card numbers or other personal details.
Please be cautious when opening emails (especially from unrecognized email addresses), clicking on links or downloading attachments from unknown sources.
If you receive any email that seems unusual, do not respond or click on any links.
Report suspected phishing attempts by forwarding the message to helpdesk@sru.edu.

HR Updates
Employee Community Space available
The Employee Community Space, a location for faculty and staff to connect with colleagues from all over campus, will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Mondays through Fridays, at Weisenfluh Dining Hall, Room 103 (direct access to from sidewalk entrance 10-11 a.m.). A microwave is available and people using the space can use QR codes on the tables to enter to win meal tickets and other monthly prizes. Groups can share information on the space’s bulletin board online. Suggestions for improvements to the space can be submitted here.
SRU mourns the loss of Henry Lenz
Henry Lenz, a retired SRU faculty member who worked at the University for 28 years, passed away Aug. 13. Lenz started as an associate professor of secondary education in 1967 before retiring as professor in 1995. More information is available in his obituary.
SRU returns to regular work hours today
The University has returned to its regular work schedule, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one-hour lunch period, beginning today, Aug. 25. Offices currently open during lunch will remain open during this period. As part of the changeover, business attire or other clothing applicable for each respective office should replace casual dress. Questions regarding these changes can be directed to the Office of Human Resources at 724.738.2070.

Football game-day workers needed
The Athletics Department is seeking paid game-day workers for its home football games, including public address announcers and scoreboard and clock operators. Any students, faculty or staff who are interested in working should contact Travis Wunsch at travis.wunsch@sru.edu.
Submissions for campus art project due Sept. 8
The SRU Art Department is seeking submissions for its the fifth annual “Windows of Slippery Rock University” community art exhibit, Sept. 18 – Oct. 10, where art created by anyone affiliated with SRU will be displayed externally on the windows of various campus buildings for the campus community to enjoy. Examples from last year’s exhibit can be viewed here. The following are submission guidelines:
Specifications: two-dimensional artwork up to 3-by-5 feet submitted as high-resolution digital images (.jpg, .psd, .tiff, .eps, .png, or .pdf formats accepted).
Media: photography, paintings, drawings, digital art, graphic design, and collages. 3D Art, such as sculptures, and ceramics can be photographed and submitted. The Art Department will pay to print and install.
Theme: “Evoke or Provoke: Humanity in Art.”
Submissions: Up to three pieces of artwork to Doris Short, assistant professor of art and project organizer, at doris.short@sru.edu. Include name, affiliation to SRU, medium and title of the work, and a brief description. Accepted works will be curated by professors from the Art Department.
Deadline to submit: Sept. 8.
