Slippery Rock University is one of 76 undergraduate institutions nationwide that the education services company The Princeton Review has named to its Mental Health Services Honor Roll for 2027.
The Honor Roll recognition is part of an annual project—now in its third year—that The Princeton Review conducts in partnership with the Ruderman Family Foundation, an internationally recognized organization that works to end the stigma associated with mental health.
Schools that earn the Honor Roll designation are those that demonstrate a strong commitment to their students’ mental health and well-being. The selections for 2027 were based on data from The Princeton Review’s 2026 Campus Mental Health Survey. It asked administrators at 739 colleges 77 questions about their school’s counseling, mental health and wellness services for students.
The Princeton Review also surveyed 56,000 students across 300 colleges about their awareness of their school’s mental health services.
Among the many ways SRU supports health and wellness for its students, the University provides mental health services through its Student Counseling Center. The center offers free, confidential services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention and mental health education. Professional counselors help students navigate challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression and adjusting to college life, connecting them with additional resources when needed. Additionally, SRU’s Student Support Team connects students experiencing personal, academic or other challenges with campus resources and services, providing coordinated assistance to help them navigate difficulties and stay on track toward success.
