A Slippery Rock University faculty member is a collaborative expert serving as a member of a prominent national board. Nazmul Rony, an associate professor of strategic communication and media, has been selected for a two-year appointment on the National Advertising Review Board, a panel within the Better Business Bureau’s National Programs.
This 93-member board, consisting of professors, advertising executives and agency members, provides independent peer review on behalf of the BBB National Programs for its members to ensure best practices such as truthfulness and accuracy in national advertisement, helping to promote voluntary compliance in the industry through self-regulatory decisions.
Rony is one of new public members, joining faculty members from flagship universities such as the University of Alabama and the University of Illinois. Rony has worked as a marketing and brand executive for many companies in his native Bangladesh and internationally. His areas of academic interest include research in social media advertising, consumer motivation, consumer attitude and brand experience. Rony has presented at numerous national and international conferences.
