Academic Updates

Drop/add deadline is Sept. 2

The deadline for students to drop/add a full semester course on the MySRU portal (OneSIS sign in) is 11:59 p.m., Sept. 2. Any attempt to drop a class after Sept. 2 will be considered a withdrawal. Students cannot drop The Rock/Basic Requirement courses. New library hours

In response to requests from students and the Student Government Association, as well as analysis of building occupancy, Bailey Library has new hours for the new academic year to include more evening access. The new hours are:

Campus Services Updates

Parking permits available

Student parking permits for the 2025-26 academic year are available to purchase on the Parking Office webpage

More information, including parking regulations and the campus parking map, is available on the Parking Office webpage, or by contacting the Parking Office 724.738.4785 or sruparking_id@sru.edu.  The parking map has been updated to show a change of the Alumni Pavilion lot from Open to Resident parking.  

Meal plan changes due Sept. 7

The period for students to make changes to their meal plans ends on Sept. 7. Visit the My Housing/My Dining portal in MySRU to make changes. If you have questions, visit Dining Services in Smith Student Center, Room 102, or email dining@sru.edu.

IATS Updates

New Help Desk location

The Help Desk and Technology Support Services are now located in Bailey Library, Room 113. The Help Desk can also be reached by calling 724.738.4357 or emailing helpdesk@sru.edu.

Phishing scam alert

The SRU community is reminded to remain vigilant against phishing attempts. Phishing is a type of online scam where attackers try to trick you into providing sensitive information such as passwords, credit card numbers or other personal details.

Other Operations & Opportunities

Football game-day workers needed

The Athletics Department is seeking paid game-day workers for its home football games, including public address announcers and scoreboard and clock operators. Any students, faculty or staff who are interested in working should contact Travis Wunsch at travis.wunsch@sru.edu.

Submissions for campus art project due Sept. 8

The SRU Art Department is seeking submissions for its the fifth annual “Windows of Slippery Rock University” community art exhibit, Sept. 18 – Oct. 10, where art created by anyone affiliated with SRU will be displayed externally on the windows of various campus buildings for the campus community to enjoy.
