Reminders

Health survey results about SRU students now available

Results from a survey administered in spring 2024 about SRU students’ health habits, behaviors and perceptions are now available. This data is intended for use by the campus community to inform them about the SRU student experience and as rationale for student programming, class projects, teaching tools, etc.

  • Every other spring, SRU students are invited to take the American College Health Association’s National College Health Assessment (ACHA-NCHA).
  • Download the full report, or
  • Download a summary sheet with key findings compiled by the SRU Office of Wellness Education.

Contact Lizzy Kline, the survey coordinator, at elizabeth.kline@sru.edu with any questions, concerns, or feedback about the data.

Music Department performance schedule for spring semester

There is no shortage of opportunities to experience the culture and sounds of musical performances at SRU. There are more than 50 public performances available through ticketed and complimentary admission during the Spring 2025 semester. More information is available on the University’s news release.

SRU transitioning student information system in 2025

SRU is transitioning its student information system this year. Located within the MySRU portal, this system known internally as Banner is used for student directory information, course registration, grade submissions and other administrative tasks.

  • SRU will continue using Banner, so the functionality and modules will remain the same, but there will be a change to a new version and how people access the system beginning with information related to the Fall 2025 semester.
    • OneSIS Banner will be used for Fall 2025 and beyond and
    • Legacy Banner is for all information prior to Fall 2025.
  • The transition will begin to occur in March, before class registration occurs for Fall 2025.
  • Separate logins will be used during the transition until all information is migrated to OneSIS in Fall 2025.

More information is available on the OneSIS FAQ section on the Academic Records webpage. If you have any questions, call Academic Records at 724.738.2010 or email academic.records@sru.edu.

  • The Rhoads Hall parking lot is now staff only.
  • Parking along the upper section of Maltby Avenue (going to the Water Tower Hill lot) has changed from staff parking to resident parking.

Food share now taking place in the CORE app

SRU Dining Services has moved its food share program to the CORE app. Previously conducted as a Slippery Rock Food Share community with the Band app, food sharing now occurs in CORE, which is a communication platform for students and student organizations managed by the Student Engagement and Leadership Office.

  • To share or receive leftover food, use the Slippery Rock Food Share chat within CORE.
  • This allows sponsors of events to notify users that food is available following catering events.
  • Download the app to your mobile device or search for The CORE App by Navengage in the app store on your mobile device.

For more information, contact Chris Cole, assistant vice president of auxiliary operations and student services, at 724.738.2718 or christopher.cole@sru.edu.
