Three Slippery Rock University students presented research at the Interdisciplinary Association for Philosophy and Religious Studies Conference, March 29, at East Stroudsburg University, including one that was recognized for the conference’s best paper.

  • Jordan Ensign, a senior dual English writing and philosophy major from Strongsville, Ohio (Strongsville HS), presented a critique of John Hick’s Irenaean theodicy, which received the IAPRS prize for best paper.
  • Sean Logue, a junior dual political science and philosophy major from Slippery Rock (Allegheny-Clarion Valley HS), presented a paper on Martin Heidegger.
  • Cameron Antoniotti, a junior dual history and philosophy major from Edinboro (General McLane HS) presented a paper on Martin Heidegger.

The students were accompanied by Tom Sparrow, a SRU associate professor of philosophy, and Andrew Colvin, a SRU associate professor of philosophy, who presented work on Daoism and aikido.

The IAPRS Conference provides undergraduate students the opportunity to present their papers for peer review in an academic conference, while fostering and developing critical thinking, and promoting mentorship between faculty and students.
