I am committed to keeping you informed by sharing important updates via email and posting them on our website. Additionally, Campus Update will remain your source for University announcements. These communications are designed to enhance our connections, increase transparency and engagement, delve deeper into our current activities, and reflect on how we, as a community, embody our values and move the University forward.
Today, we focus on our values. We have articulated our vision, mission, and values through a variety of means using many different words; however, our message is clear and unwavering. Slippery Rock University strives to provide a safe, supportive, and healthy environment that allows every community member to thrive, where students, faculty, and staff are valued and treated with dignity and respect.
SRU is an institution that celebrates and embraces a range of differences between our people and our thoughts. We are a place to support each other during challenges and join to celebrate our successes. Making this commitment together helps us to accomplish a positive and welcoming environment that embraces the new, while honoring traditions that are centered upon respect, optimism, hope, confidence, and a collective future.
We have created a strategic plan with goals, strategies, and activities; however, their meaning is embodied with how we support one another in our day-to-day interactions. Our successful outcomes and accolades are the result of creating a culture of caring for one another, attending to those in need and supporting everyone with the resources that they need. This is true for all members of our community, faculty, staff, and students.
