SRU Army ROTC tests grit as hosts of Arctic Ranger Challenge

Slippery Rock University’s U.S. Army ROTC program hosted its annual Arctic Ranger Challenge, Feb. 28 on campus, as cadets tested their grit and resiliency in what is typically cold temperatures in a military skills competition.

Eight teams from SRU, the University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania and PennWest Edinboro competed in tactical combat training events and timed physical and mental challenges. The event required strength, focus and perseverance at every station.

The winning team was “SRU 1” from Slippery Rock University.
