Slippery Rock University is digging into sustainability with a series of Earth Month and Earth Day events in April hosted by SRU’s Macoskey Center for Sustainability Education and Research.

Highlighting the events is the Macoskey Center’s Open House on Earth Day, April 22, from 4-7 p.m. at the center, located at 247 Harmony Road. The Macoskey Center staff and key partners will celebrate sustainability in action by offering attendees of all ages hands-on activities, interactive tours, hydroponics and sustainable technology demonstrations and student research showcases.

Other Earth Month events include a Birds and Bagels walk from 8:30-9:30 a.m., April 16, on the center grounds, as well as volunteer opportunities at the center on April 9 and April 14. There’s also a sustainable cooking class from 12:30-1:30 p.m., April 28, at the center.

All events except for the open house require an RSVP. Learn more on the Macoskey Center’s Earth Month calendar.
