The Slippery Rock University Wind Ensemble’s first performance of the 2025-26 school year is Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Swope Music Hall. The concert will feature a performance from the SRU Saxophone Studio.

The ensemble, an audition-based concert band, has spent the semester preparing five diverse pieces for the concert, even rehearsing with the composer of a piece featured in the concert.

“It’s a very dynamic concert,” said Brent Echols, SRU instructor of music and director of bands. “There’s not a single song on the program that sounds like the one before it.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. They can be purchased online at sru.edu/tickets.

More information about the Wind Ensemble can be found on the Music Department’s webpage.
