A Slippery Rock University faculty member reached one of the highest summits of her discipline by being honored for excellence by a prominent professional organization. Alessia Zanin-Yost, associate professor and health sciences librarian, achieved the status of Distinguished Member in the Medical Library Association’s Academy of Health Information Professionals.
The MLA’s Academy of Health Information Professionals is a peer-reviewed accomplishment and portfolio-based certification and career development program for health professionals. Contendors for Academy membership earn points for work that serves to further their knowledge and involvement in the study of health sciences. This includes continuing education, teaching, publishing, participation of professional associations, other activities like formal consulting, funded grants and participation in institutional review boards.
