More than 140 seventh graders from Slippery Rock Area Middle School were on campus, April 10, learning about space science directly from Slippery Rock University students.
As part of a service-learning project in a Space Science course, 30 SRU students led programs in the Vincent Science Center. Their lessons included a planetarium show and presentations about standing waves, resonance tubes, spectroscopy and lenses, and Kepler’s Laws, as well as a visit from a robotic dog.
The class is taught by Krishna Mukherjee, assistant professor of physics.
