Slippery Rock University continues its deep care and support for the well-being of their students by securing funds to combat underage drinking.
SRU was awarded the $50,000 Reducing Underage and Dangerous Drinking grant from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board. This grant was given for 2026-28, the second cycle in a row that the University has received funding.
This year, the grant will be used to fund overtime for University Police, as well as wellness programs such as peer education programs and professional development for University wellness staff.
The grant proposal was successfully written by Lizzy Berdik, assistant director of wellness education.
More information and a list of grantees is available on the PLCB website.
