Daniel Dieter, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of strategic communication and media, and Alessia Zanin-Yost, an SRU assistant professor of library systems, recently co-authored a textbook titled “Communicating with Purpose: An Introduction to Health Communication.” The publication covers 20 theories and models of central importance for health communication and how they can be applied in health care environments to promote understanding, reduce health disparities and improve health outcomes.
