Sajad Hamidi, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of engineering, will return to Oak Ridge National Laboratory as a visiting researcher this summer. Funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, this opportunity allows Hamidi to expand his research on greenhouse gas emissions from aquatic systems and build on work initiated during a sabbatical at ORNL in the summer and fall of 2024.
During his initial tenure at ORNL, Hamidi collaborated with national experts to investigate the environmental impacts of greenhouse gases, leading to a presentation at the North American Lake Management Society conference. His ongoing work will also be featured at the upcoming World Environmental and Water Resources Congress in May 2025.
“I’m honored to return to Oak Ridge and continue this important research,” said Hamidi. “The partnership not only enhances our understanding of climate-related challenges but also opens the door for our students to engage in high-impact research through internship opportunities at a world-class facility.”
