Shelton helping lead PASSHE educator diversity initiative

Tricia Shelton, a Slippery Rock University professor of curriculum, instruction and educational leadership, received a grant from Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education Foundation, as a part of its Educator Diversity Initiative.

As part the grant, Shelton will work with 12 other colleagues from other State System universities, including deans and professors, to host a summit in October 2025 that will bring together leaders from PASSHE institutions, their K-12 partners, and state policy advocates, to develop strategies for growing the educator pipeline, particularly from diverse populations. Shelton’s project role is data collection strategy and implementation.
