SRU announces dynamic lineup of summer camps and programs for 2026

Slippery Rock University is gearing up for a vibrant and activity‑packed summer as thousands of visitors arrive on campus for a wide range of camps, academies, workshops and visiting programs running from May through August. More than 3,000 participants, including young learners, performers, athletes, educators and community groups, will experience SRU as a lively hub for learning, creativity and engagement.

SRU’s summer offerings span academic enrichment, arts training, athletic development and professional certification. University‑based programs include Popular Music Pedagogy, Macoskey Center summer camps, Conversational Solfege Certification, Voice Academy, Forge Dance, Jazz Academy, Cross Country Camp, Track & Field Camp, Drum Major Camp, and volleyball and basketball camps. Rates vary by program with commuter and overnight options are available for many of the offerings.

In addition to SRU‑hosted programs, the University will welcome a variety of visiting groups and organizations such as high school marching bands, cheer/dance camps, a variety of sports and organized faith-based conferences. Their presence adds to the energy and diversity of the campus community throughout the summer months.

“Summer at Slippery Rock University is always a special time,” said Deb Schell, director of Student Center and Conference Services. “These programs bring new voices, new talents, and new energy to campus while showcasing SRU and Slippery Rock as a destination for growth, performance, and exploration.”
