Music from around the world will be celebrated as Slippery Rock University Choirs host its Mysteries and Marvels concert, 7:30 p.m., Oct. 30, in the Swope Music Hall. The performance by SRU students is centered on imaginative soundscapes of awe and imagination and will feature songs from Mozart’s “Kyrie” and the “Requiem in D minor” to Haitian folk song “Papa Loko,” all united by music’s power to express what words alone cannot.

Although this concert falls on Halloween, organizers seek to look beyond the seasonal spookiness into a deeper realm and to celebrate the wonder of creation, the beauty of belief, and the mystery that binds all who sing.

Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students and can be purchased at sru.edu/tickets.
