Emerging as one of the nation’s most prominent business schools, Slippery Rock University’s School of Business within the Haverlack College of Business has once again proven to demonstrate exceptional quality. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) has extended SRU’s accreditation, reaffirming that the University’s School of Business meets the highest standards for its five-year review after AACSB first accredited SRU in 2020.
“AACSB accreditation means that our students are being prepared with the durable skills employers seek and are equipped to thrive in a competitive world because their education meets the highest standards of quality and relevance,” said Prasad Vemala, dean of SRU’s Haverlack College of Business. “Achieving reaccreditation affirms what we see every day in our School of Business: faculty and staff who care deeply about student learning and success, and alumni who remain actively engaged as mentors, partners and champions of our students.”
Among the School of Business’ distinguishing traits that appealed to AASCB reviewers is SRU’s Emerging Leaders Board, a newly created group of engaged alumni who have achieved success five years into their careers and remain active on campus. Board members and other alumni return to campus regularly to serve on panels and mentor current students to help them navigate the transition from college to career.
SRU also earned high praise for the nurturing environment offered to students, academic and career services, philanthropic support, and collaborative partnerships with industry advisory boards and community organizations.
Only 6% of the world’s schools offering business degree programs are accredited by AACSB International. Schools with AACSB accreditation offer higher-quality programs that directly benefit students, result in increased graduation rates and produce graduates who are sought after by leading employers. Ninety-six percent of alumni from AACSB-accredited business schools are employed.
SRU’s next AACSB review will occur in 2031.
