Abbs and Bechard co-author article published in Social Work Today Magazine

Kristie Abbs, a Slippery Rock University assistant professor of social work, and Thomas Bechard, an SRU assistant professor of social work, recently co-wrote an article that was published in Social Work Today Magazine titled “The Effects of Unconditional Acceptance on High-Risk Sexual Behaviors in Men Diagnosed with HIV.”

The article discusses the importance of acceptance and support for men diagnosed with HIV, highlighting how social workers can help clients change sexual behaviors, develop new skills and gain community support by fostering positive decision-making that benefits both individuals and their communities.
