Jazaei presents at international mechanical engineering conference

Robabeh Jazaei, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of engineering, presented at the International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, Nov. 17-19, in Portland, Oregon. Jazaei’s presentation, titled “Enhancing Teaching Effectiveness and Student Engagement in Structural Engineering Integration of RISA Software: A Project-Based Pedagogy Approach,” explored the integration of RISA software into structural engineering education at civil engineering program at SRU.

Jazaei’s study, which employed a project-based approach to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes, highlighted the effectiveness of using real-world software tools to improve conceptual understanding and practical skills in structural design.

The IMECE, held annually in Portland, Oregon, is a global engineering conference uniting academic researchers, industry leaders and government representatives from more than 50 countries to present nearly 2,400 papers across diverse engineering disciplines.
