Slippery Rock University students continue to set the standard for excellence, showcasing their dedication, talent and impact through outstanding research, scholarship and creative achievement.
SRU hosted its annual Symposium for Student Research, Scholarship and Creative Activity, April 16 in the Smith Student Center. This single-day event celebrated undergraduate and graduate student work and featured performances, exhibits, and poster and oral presentations.
Poster presentions included:
- “Investigation of Metal Resistant Bacteria from Acid Mine Drainage Environments and the Genetic Elements,” by Gianna Kraus, a senior biology major from Murrysville (Kiski HS).
- “The Association Between Perceived Stress and Cognitive Performance,” by Angela Russell, a senior psychology major from Erie (McDowell HS).
- “Misrepresentation of Indigenous Culture in Horror Media,” by Chris Kirchner, a junior secondary education-social studies/history major from Pittsburgh (Seton-LaSalle HS).
